5.14.5. Replacement of the fuel pump

If capacity of the engine falls, there was a raised noise or howlings at work of the fuel pump, most likely, the fuel pump has failed are periodically audible.

Preliminary check up pressure in system of giving of fuel in a following order.

1. Check up serviceability of a regulator of pressure of fuel (Check and replacement of a regulator of pressure of fuel see).

2. If pressure in system is less 250 кПа (2,5 kgs/sm²), replace the fuel filter (Replacement of the fuel filter see).

If and in this case pressure does not increase, it is necessary to replace the fuel pump, as at the pump трудноразбираемая the design and its elements separately in spare parts are not delivered.

It be required to you: a screw-driver with a flat edge, capacity for plum of fuel from the module of the fuel pump.

1. Lower pressure in the power supply system (Pressure decrease in the power supply system see).

2. Disconnect a wire from the plug "minus" of the storage battery.

3. Remove a pillow of a back seat (Removal and installation of a back seat see).	4. Hook a screw-driver …

5. … also remove a plastic cover of the hatch in the body basis over the fuel pump.	6. Wring out to the right a clamp колодки a plait of wires …

7. … also disconnect pad from the module of the fuel pump.	8. Having compressed plastic clamps, disconnect from unions of the pump tips drain топливопровода …

9. … and топливопровода a high pressure.	10. Turn a screw-driver a clamping ring of the module of the fuel pump counter-clockwise till the moment of coincidence of grooves in a ring with ledges of a flange of a fuel tank …

11. … also remove a ring.	12. Having remembered position of the module of the fuel pump concerning a fuel tank (to facilitate its installation at return installation), accurately take the module and merge from it fuel in in advance prepared capacity.

13. Remove a sealing ring and examine it. Necessarily replace a ring if it is torn or pressed strongly out.

14. Establish the module of the fuel pump in an order, the return to removal, and in the same position in which it was before removal (see item 12).

    

THE NOTE The module of the fuel pump can be established in a fuel tank only in one position as the bottom oblique part of a glass of the module leans two rubber buffers in an inclined wall of a fuel tank. At module installation in a tank in any other position to fix its clamping ring it will not be possible.
