5.12.6. Removal and thermostat installation

Necessity for thermostat removal can arise for its replacement at an astable temperature mode of the engine — an overheat or insufficient warming up.

For thermostat check on the car start up the cold engine and touch a hand the top (bringing) hose of a radiator — it should be cold. After the temperature of a cooling liquid will reach 80–85 С, the hose should start to heat up quickly that specifies in the beginning of circulation of a liquid on the big contour. If it does not occur, remove the thermostat and check up its working capacity.

The thermostat has not folding design, therefore at failure it replace in gathering.

It be required to you: all tools necessary for removal of a drive газораспределительного of the mechanism, and also a key on 13, a screw-driver.

1. Merge a liquid from cooling system (Replacement of a cooling liquid see).

2. Remove a belt of a drive of the generator and the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering (Replacement of a belt of a drive of the generator and the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering see).

3. Remove a belt of a drive of the compressor of the conditioner (Replacement of a belt of a drive of the compressor of the conditioner see).

4. Remove a drive belt газораспределительного the mechanism (Replacement and adjustment of a tension of a belt of a drive газораспределительного the mechanism and replacement of its tension roller see).

5. Remove a back cover of a drive газораспределительного the mechanism (Removal and installation of the oil pump see).

6. Turn out two bolts of fastening of a cover of a nest of the thermostat …	7. … also take a cover aside, without disconnecting from it a hose.

8. Having hooked a screw-driver, take from a nest in a head of the block of cylinders the thermostat together with a rubber sealing ring.	9. Remove a sealing ring from the thermostat. A ring replace at each removal of the thermostat.

10. Establish a sealing ring on the new thermostat and establish the thermostat in a nest.

11. Establish a nest cover, having cleared привалочные surfaces of a head of the block of cylinders and a cover of oxides and pollution.

GOOD ADVICE Before installation of a cover of the thermostat put on its flange a hermetic layer.

13. Establish details in an order, the return to removal.

14. Adjust a tension of belts of a drive of the generator and the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering (Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of a drive of the generator and the pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering see), and also the conditioner compressor (Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of a drive of the compressor of the conditioner see).

15. Fill in cooling liquid and remove from cooling system air stoppers (Replacement of a cooling liquid see).
