4.3.16. Check and adjustment of corners of installation of wheels

Check and adjustment of corners of installation of wheels are necessary for maintenance of good stability and controllability of the car, and also uniform deterioration of tyres at operation. Check and adjustment of corners of installation of wheels carry out at special stands according to instructions on their operation.
Adjustment of a corner of disorder and convergence of back wheels a car design is not provided. Discrepancy of the valid values measured on the car, to the control values specified more low, can speak deterioration and deformation of details of a suspension bracket, body deformation. At detection of deviations in the parametres of a back suspension bracket caused by deformation of its elements and a body, it is necessary to find the reason of occurrence of deviations and to eliminate its replacement of the failed details.

    
THE PREVENTION
Replacement or repair of details of a suspension bracket can cause change of corners of installation of wheels, therefore check of corners of installation of wheels is obligatory.

Corners of installation of wheels check on the car without loading with the fuel tank filled half, normal pressure of air in tyres and in the absence of excessive люфтов in suspension bracket knots.

The corner of disorder of forward wheels is characterised by a deviation of an average plane of rotation of a wheel from a vertical. Adjustment of a corner of disorder of forward wheels is not provided by a car design.
The convergence of forward wheels represents a corner between a plane of rotation of a wheel and a longitudinal axis of the car. A convergence of forward wheels regulate change of length of steering draughts.
