5.7.8. Replacement of a lining of a final collector

Between flanges of a head of the block of cylinders and a final collector the sealing lining made of pressed asbestine sheet, reinforced by a steel is established. At infringement of tightness of this lining there is a break outside of the fulfilled gases, accompanied by a characteristic sharp sound (a collector сечет). If it is not possible to eliminate malfunction a tightening of fastening of a final collector, replace a lining.

THE NOTE At replacement of a lining of a final collector it is possible not to disconnect a flange of a reception pipe from a collector. There is enough, having turned away a nut of fastening of a collector, to remove it from hairpins of a head of the block and to take away from a head so, flexibility of system of release how much allows. Through the formed backlash it is possible to take out a collector lining.

1. Remove the thermoscreen of a final collector (Removal and installation of thermoscreens see).	2. Turn away eight nuts of fastening of a final collector in the sequence shown on fig. 5.6.

3. Remove from hairpins a final collector …	4. … and the lining established under it.

5. Carefully clear привалочные surfaces of a head of the block and a final collector of the rests of an old lining and a deposit.

6. Establish a new lining and all removed details in sequence, return to removal.

7. Nuts of fastening of a final collector tighten in sequence, return shown on fig. 5.6, the moment resulted in the appendix 1.

GOOD ADVICE In order to avoid burning of a lining and for increase of its tightness it is recommended to grease before lining installation it from both parties a thin layer of graphitic greasing. Hairpins of a head of the block of cylinders grease with graphitic greasing.
