7.1.4. Repair absorber racks

Repair of the shock-absorber of a telescopic rack usually does not lead to desirable result, therefore is if necessary recommended to replace the shock-absorber.
It be required to you: keys on 9, on 19, the adaptation for spring compression.
1. Remove амортизаторную a rack from the car (Removal and installation absorber racks see).
2. Establish the adaptation for compression of a spring and compress a spring.
3. Turn away a rod nut, keeping a rod from проворачивания the second key.
4. Remove the top support.
5. Remove тарельчатую and flat washers.
6. Remove a protective casing in gathering...
7. … and the compression buffer.
8. Remove a spring of a forward suspension bracket.

Springs replace only with steams (right and left simultaneously).

9. Remove the bottom lining of a spring.
10. Turn out a nut of fastening of the shock-absorber from the rack case, having clamped it in a vice and rotating a rack.

If you do not have vice, turn out a nut разводным or a trumpet key.
If a nut strongly корродирована, try to turn out it by means of a chisel and a hammer.
If the nut did not manage to be turned out in the ways specified above, take advantage of a drill for drilling of apertures in a nut. At drilling shock-absorber damage, therefore such way is possible it is better to apply only in case of shock-absorber replacement.
We recommend to replace a nut of fastening of the shock-absorber new irrespective of its condition.
The moment of an inhaling of a nut of the shock-absorber 200 Нм.

11. Remove a nut …
12. … also take the shock-absorber from the rack case.

If necessary remove a nave and выпрессуйте the bearing (Replacement of the bearing of a forward nave see).

13. If necessary disassemble a protective casing. The damaged details replace.
14. Establish the shock-absorber vertically and some times against the stop lower and lift a shock-absorber rod. Be convinced that the rod moves without failures, jammings and knocks. Otherwise replace the shock-absorber. Besides, replace the shock-absorber at detection of traces подтекания liquids (it is supposed insignificant отпотевание in the top part of the case) and at damage of a carving to the top part of a rod.

Shock-absorbers replace only with steams (right and left simultaneously).

15. Replace the damaged buffer of a course of compression.
16. Replace the top support if the bearing корродирован, has axial moving to the case of a support or it заедает at проворачивании.

17. Establish details in an order, the return to removal. During assemblage сориентируйте a protective cover so that the ledge (it is shown by an arrow) on the left rack has been directed forward (in a direction of movement of the car), and on the right rack — back. A tarelchatuju washer 6 bearings of the top support establish the unbent edge upwards (fig. 7.2 see).
18. Definitively tighten a nut of a rod of the shock-absorber on the car standing on the earth, the moment 55 Нм.

After repair absorber racks check up and if necessary adjust corners of installation of wheels. Take advantage of services of the workshops having the special equipment.
