11.22. Replacement motionless glazing bodies

Glasses of a wind window and back window are pasted in body apertures. Them replace with identical receptions, therefore work is shown on an example of glass of a wind window.

It be required to you: a screw-driver with a flat edge, sewed, a knife, a set for an insert of glasses.

So the set for an insert of glasses looks. It consists of a tuba with glue, a tip of a tuba, the activator/cleaner, a ground.

    

THE NOTE In instructions on application of sets of different manufacturers there can be insignificant distinctions. In this connection at performance of the given operation be guided by the instruction to the set got by you.

    

GOOD ADVICE For removal of the pasted glass it is convenient to use a steel string.

1. Remove levers of a screen wiper of a wind window together with brushes (Replacement of levers and draughts of a screen wiper of a wind window see).

2. Open a cowl and remove a box lattice air flow (Removal and installation of a lattice of a box air flow see, with. 250). Close a cowl.

3. Open both forward doors.

4. Remove facings of forward racks (Removal and installation of facings of salon see).	5. Remove an internal rear-view mirror (Removal and installation of an internal mirror see).

6. Remove a sealant of glass of a wind window, shifting it from glass and taking out from a groove of an aperture of a window.	7. Slightly having hooked glass a screw-driver, pierce a glutinous seam the pointed tool (for example, шилом) and stretch in an aperture a string.

8. For convenience of work on the string ends it is possible to fix screw-drivers which will serve as handles.

9. Saw a string a glutinous seam on all perimetre of glass (for performance of this operation to you the assistant can be demanded).

10. Remove glass from the car.

THE PREVENTION Observe safety measures at work with glass. The damaged glass can unexpectedly collapse.

11. Cut off an old seam, leaving a thin layer of glue (1,0–2,0 mm).	12. Put the activator …

13. … on edge of glass and a window aperture on all perimetre.	14. Put a ground on perimetre of glass and a window aperture.

    

THE PREVENTION Do not put a ground on the rests of old glue.

15. Establish on all aperture rubber overlays of the identical thickness preventing contact of glass with elements of a body.

16. During 30 mines after ground drawing in regular intervals put glue on a window aperture (a thickness of a layer of 0,5 sm) and on glass perimetre.

17. Establish glass on the car.

18. Establish into place a glass sealant.

19. Press and fix glass in any accessible way (for example, by means of a painting adhesive tape). The period of polymerisation of glue makes not less than 2-3 ч. During this time the car should not be exposed to any external influences. Even sharp closing of a door can lead to increase of pressure of air in salon and, as consequence, to a glass separation. Operation of the car after a glass insert is desirable for beginning not earlier than through 24 ч.

20. Establish facings of forward racks.

21. Establish a box lattice air flow and an internal rear-view mirror.

22. Establish levers of a screen wiper of a wind window together with brushes.

23. Glass of a window of a back replace similarly.

If on new glass of a wind window for any reasons there is no arm of fastening of a rear-view mirror, it is possible to paste an arm to glass independently. For this purpose be required:

– Glue of mark Loctite;

– An arm of fastening of a mirror;

– The pencil-steklograf or is small;

– Spirit for washing;

– A pure paper towel;

– A fine-grained emery paper number 320–360.

The marking on glass of a wind window for installation of an arm of fastening of a mirror is shown on fig. 11.5.

1. Measure on an internal surface of glass on an axis of symmetry distance And from the top edge of glass to the bottom edge of the basis of the arm, equal 118 mm.

2. Put the arm basis to an external surface of glass, having combined its bottom edge with a marking line. Designate on glass a contour of the basis of an arm collotype or small. Outline a circle round an installation site of an arm a little большего diameter, than the arm basis to limit a zone of clearing of an internal surface of glass.

3. Wash out a soap solution an internal surface has flown down and wipe dry a paper towel.

4. Wipe an internal surface has flown down the paper towel moistened in spirit.

5. Process a skin granularity number 320–360 surface noted around from the interior of glass, wipe the paper towel moistened in spirit, and allow to dry out.

6. Put on surfaces of glass and the basis of an arm glue, being guided by the instruction of firm-manufacturer of glue.

7. Put an arm to an internal surface of glass according to a marking and strongly press it on 30-60 with.

8. Later 5 mines remove from glass surpluses of glue the paper towel moistened with spirit.
