6.3.4. Replacement of hinges of equal angular speeds

If during movement at car turns knocks in a forward drive are audible, check up hinges of equal angular speeds. If at rocking by a hand of a shaft of a drive it is felt люфт in the hinge or protective covers are torn, it is necessary to replace such hinge. To assort the hinge practically there is no sense. This work labour-consuming, and at the torn cover the dirt which has got to the hinge already has put out of commission hinge details. To replace separately hinge details it is impossible, therefore the most optimum decision — to replace the hinge in gathering. Dismantling for replacement of greasing of the internal hinge as less subject to hit of water and a road dirt is as a last resort supposed. Occurrence of traces of greasing on the hinge specifies that the cover is torn.

1. Remove a drive of a forward wheel in gathering (Removal and installation of drives of forward wheels see).

2. Clear details and examine a drive:

– The external hinge of equal angular speeds should turn with easy effort without jerks and jammings, without radial and axial люфтов. At their presence replace the hinge;

– The internal hinge should move in angular and axial directions with easy effort, thus should not be felt jerks, jammings and radial люфтов. Otherwise replace the internal hinge;

– Protective covers of external and internal hinges should not have cracks and ruptures. Replace the damaged covers;

– The shaft of a drive of wheels should not be deformed. Replace the deformed shaft.

3. Have a bite бокорезами the lock of a collar of fastening of a cover of the external hinge …	4. … also remove a collar.

THE NOTE Collars of fastening of protective covers of hinges of equal angular speeds of disposable use, at assemblage replace their new. As a rule, collars are included into the complete set of the new hinge.

5. Similarly remove the second collar of fastening of a cover.	6. Shift a protective cover …

7. … unclench a lock ring a stripper of lock rings and bring down a holder from a shaft a hammer through small beards.	8. Remove the external hinge with шлицев a shaft.

9. Take a lock ring from a holder aperture.

THE NOTE At assemblage replace a lock ring new. As a rule, it is included into the complete set of the new hinge.

10. Remove a protective cover.

THE NOTE At assemblage a protective cover replace new. As a rule, the cover is included into the complete set of the new hinge.

11. If necessary in the same way remove the internal hinge of equal angular speeds. It has a design almost similar to a design of the external hinge (the holder of a cover is in addition established), and is fixed on a drive shaft in the same way, as external.

12. Wash out all metal details kerosene before full removal of old greasing.

13. Before assemblage fill hinges with new greasing. If greasing is not included into the complete set of the established hinge, use greasing ШРУС-4 or the similar import.

14. Establish details in an order, the return to removal.

15. After cover installation, before its fastening by collars, delay edge of a cover from the hinge case (for example, a screw-driver) to let out from a cover superfluous air.

16. Check up density прилегания corbels of a cover and reliability of fastening of collars. The cover should not be turned on the hinge, and collars — on a cover. Otherwise replace collars.
