8.1. Features of a design




On cars Chevrolet/Daewoo Lanos establish a steering with the steering mechanism of type a gear wheel-rejka. The steering drive consists of two steering draughts connected by spherical hinges with rotary levers of telescopic racks of a forward suspension bracket. A steering column safety.

The majority of cars complete with a steering with the hydraulic booster (fig. 8.1). Pressure of a working liquid in the hydraulic booster is created by the pump лопастного type which is established on the engine and resulted by the general with the generator поликлиновым a belt. At refusal of the steering amplifier driving possibility remains, but the effort to a steering wheel increases.
Carter of the steering mechanism is established in подкапотном space and fixed on a board передка by two скобами. The shaft-gear wheel of the steering mechanism is connected to steering shaft of a steering column through elastic муфту.
The steering mechanism without the hydraulic booster has a similar design. In the given book the steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster as the most difficult is considered.

The steering column (fig. 8.2) is equipped by the power absorbing device raising passive safety of the car, and the antijoy ride device in the ignition lock, blocking from turn a steering shaft 15. On a steering column controls by light of headlights, turn indexes, a washer and a windscreen cleaner also are placed.
