2.9. Updating of the moment of ignition depending on quality of gasoline

The electronic oktan-proof-reader is built in the electronic block of engine management, allowing to arrange a control system of the engine depending on applied fuel updating of the characteristic of change of a corner of an advancing of ignition. The range of updating of this characteristic allows to use gasoline with octane number 83, 87, 92 or 95. The approached analogue of gasoline АИ-83 (the research method of definition октанового numbers) is gasoline А-76 (a motor method) or АИ-80 (a research method). Most close on value октанового numbers to А-87 is АИ-92. However at use of gasoline with low octane number dynamic characteristics worsen and the fuel expense increases, therefore to use gasoline with octane number less than 92 it is not recommended.

The characteristic of change of a corner of an advancing of ignition for work on corresponding gasoline correct, closing corresponding contacts in колодке the oktan-proof-reader (tab. 2.1). Numbers of contacts in колодке the oktan-proof-reader are shown on fig. 2.3, and colours of wires of contacts are resulted in tab. 2.2.

    

THE NOTE The majority of new cars leaves from factory with adjustment for gasoline with octane number 92.

Колодка the oktan-proof-reader is under a seat of the forward passenger under a floor upholstery. For access to колодке it is necessary to remove a seat of the forward passenger (Removal and installation of a forward seat see), facing of a threshold of the right forward door (Removal and installation of facings of salon see) and to lift a floor upholstery.

    

PREVENTIONS Use of gasoline with low octane number leads to deterioration of fuel profitability and traction characteristics of the engine. It is not recommended to use gasoline with octane number less than 92 and to adjust the oktan-proof-reader for work with such fuel.
